Terms of Enrolment

The terms a place on a programme is held under.

What am I enrolling in?

A named programme, of a stated number of hours, on a stated schedule, taught with the equipment listed for it. The hours and the schedule are the substance of the enrolment — if either changes materially, the student is told before the change takes effect.

What is expected of a student?

Attendance, because the hours on the certificate are hours actually attended. Care with shared equipment, which the next class depends on. And conduct in a workshop that does not put another student at risk.

What does the certificate say?

The programme, the hours completed and the dates. It is a record of training completed at this centre. It is not a professional licence, and we do not describe it as one.

Can a place be moved?

A student may ask to move to a later intake of the same programme. We hold the place where the later intake has room; where it does not, we say so rather than promise a seat that does not exist.

When can a place be withdrawn?

For conduct that makes a workshop unsafe for others, and for prolonged absence that makes the hours unachievable. In both cases the reason is put in writing.

A changed version is published here with the date it took effect, and applies to enrolments made after that date.
